Today's Animal of the Day is the Sailfish. It is a large saltwater fish, found in two variants in the Atlantic and Indo-Pacific oceans, growing to about 10 feet in length and 200 lbs in weight. They are widely regarded as the fastest fish in the world, able to dash at over 60 miles per hour. The huge dorsal fin (sail) is kept down under normal conditions while swimming, but is raised so that the fish looks bigger and scarier when herding a school of prey. These large fish will work with each other to catch food, but they won't share if you ask them to, because they are very sailfish.
